About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute inbound and outbound sales motions supporting the APAC Japan Sales team
  • Respond to prospects and qualify whether Megaport is a suitable solution
  • Generate new meetings and opportunities from inbound marketing-qualified leads and outbound prospecting campaigns
  • Use phone, email, and LinkedIn to connect with prospective customers
  • Follow up on, manage, and drive qualified inbound marketing leads to book meetings and create sales opportunities
  • Use Salesforce, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Nooks, and ZoomInfo for sales and lead generation
  • Learn and communicate how Megaport solutions address customer pain points and deliver value
  • Identify and source sales opportunities aligned with Megaport's ideal customer profile
  • Manage prospects through the website live chat tool
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives, solution architects, marketing, and broader account teams
  • Maintain contact information and pipeline data in Salesforce CRM
  • Qualify prospects and schedule demonstrations
  • Complete sales training and self-study to stay informed about products and services
  • Invite and drive attendance to company events and regional trade shows
  • Report to the APAC SDR Team Lead
  • Develop sales career through ongoing training and 1:1 coaching

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluent in Japanese and based in Japan
  • Knowledge of the local Japanese sales market
  • Action-oriented, highly organized, resourceful, results-oriented, and adaptable
  • Strong work ethic and drive to succeed in ambiguous situations
  • Self-motivated, able to solve problems, and able to work with limited direction
  • Ability to handle fast-paced change and learn quickly
  • Self-discipline and focus to manage an intense, high-volume business
  • Ability to achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals
  • Basic understanding of SaaS and/or networking and cloud offerings preferred but not required
  • Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment preferred but not required
  • 6+ months of B2B sales development (SDR / ASR / BDR) experience preferred but not required
