About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide continuous observation and monitoring of assigned patients under a registered nurse’s direction
  • Verbally redirect patients from at-risk behaviors and summon nursing staff when assistance is needed
  • Coordinate with the Registered Nurse during relief efforts to maintain constant observation
  • Maintain visual observation and report threats, safety issues, and hazards
  • Screen patients, employees, and visitors using temperature readings and health-screening questionnaires
  • Provide guidance to individuals who do not meet screening standards
  • Participate in patient safety identification, reporting, and hand-offs
  • Assist patients with eating, cleaning, walking, and brushing teeth or hair as assigned
  • Follow safety rules and participate in safety programs
  • Provide compassionate, personalized, and efficient patient service
  • Meet Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, education, competency, productivity, and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
