About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver patient care using the nursing process
- Provide professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, assistance with exams and treatment, patient education, and medical-record maintenance
- Deliver safe and appropriate care according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
- Coordinate nursing-care planning with an interdisciplinary team and administer appropriate clinical decisions
- Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes
- Coordinate treatment plans and develop or implement discharge and transfer plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary program evaluation, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes
- Consider diverse patient needs across the continuum of care and optimize the patient experience
- Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and standards
- Support department goals and may serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of recent Hospital ED experience required within the last 3 years
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
- Basic Life Support certification
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Must adhere to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
- Must meet mandatory/continuing education and skills competency requirements
