About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in delivering patient care using the nursing process
- Provide professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, assistance with examinations and treatment, patient education, and medical-record maintenance
- Deliver safe and appropriate care according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
- Coordinate nursing-care planning and make appropriate clinical decisions
- Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes
- Coordinate treatment plans and develop or implement discharge and transfer plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary program evaluation, process improvement, and client-centered outcome initiatives
- Address diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care and optimize the patient experience
- Promote a safe, accountable, and resource-conscious environment
- Meet mandatory education and competency requirements and support department goals
- Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
- Perform other duties within scope of practice and clinical competency
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of recent M/S Tele experience required within the last 3 years
- Minimum of two years of recent RN experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIHSS certification
- Additional certifications may be required based on discipline or nursing unit requirements
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Adherence to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, standards, regulatory requirements, and Texas Board of Nursing standards
