About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team in delivering patient care
Provide professional nursing care, including nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and medical-record maintenance
Deliver safe and appropriate care according to nursing skills inventory and patient age and needs
Coordinate nursing-care planning with an interdisciplinary team and make appropriate clinical decisions
Collaborate with, direct, and delegate to the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes
Coordinate treatment plans and develop or implement discharge and transfer plans
Participate in interdisciplinary program evaluation, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes
Address diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care
Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to Memorial Hermann policies and standards
Meet mandatory education and competency requirements and support department goals
Serve as a preceptor, mentor, or resource to less experienced staff
Model Memorial Hermann service standards and provide compassionate, personalized, and efficient experiences
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
Certified in Basic Life Support
Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
RN I: less than 1 year of experience
RN II: 1–3 years of experience
RN III: 3–10 years of experience
RN IV: 10+ years of experience
Effective oral and written communication skills
Adherence to Texas Board of Nursing standards
