About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the vision, development, and execution of transformative brand marketing for Mendocino Farms
- Own brand strategy, positioning, voice, creative platform, integrated brand campaigns, menu and product marketing, and the Integrated Marketing function
- Translate business and growth strategy into differentiated brand strategy across established and first-to-market communities
- Lead bold integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels, including social, PR, influencer marketing, and experiential activations
- Direct brand strategy, campaign development, concept evaluation, feedback, and approvals with agency partners
- Partner with Growth Marketing on annual and seasonal brand marketing plans, calendars, paid media, local store marketing, and new store openings
- Own external communications and PR strategy, including agency and media relationships
- Set organic social and content strategy to build brand affinity, community engagement, and cultural relevance
- Own the brand marketing and campaign agency budget and ensure measurable business results
- Align Mendocino Farms' integrated agency roster through shared processes, governance, briefing standards, handoffs, and approval workflows
- Lead go-to-market strategy for menu innovation, limited-time offerings, and product launches with Culinary and Operations
- Lead the Product Marketing Manager and function
- Use guest, consumer, market, and performance insights to inform strategy, prioritization, and campaign targeting
- Monitor product performance and menu mix to drive incremental growth
- Provide oversight for the Guest Relations Lead and incorporate guest-feedback trends into brand and campaign decisions
- Partner with Growth Marketing, Guest Insights & Analytics, Executive Leadership, and Creative & Production
- Build cross-functional relationships and foster collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 12+ years of progressive brand marketing experience
- At least 5 years leading senior teams or major marketing functions in a complex, multi-location consumer business
- Demonstrated success defining brand positioning, voice, and creative platforms
- Experience leading integrated campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels
- Track record applying guest, cultural, market, and performance insights to improve awareness, consideration, traffic, sales, menu mix, and marketing effectiveness
- Experience leading go-to-market strategy for product innovation, seasonal programs, limited-time offerings, or comparable launches with culinary and operations teams
- Extensive experience directing integrated agency partners, establishing effective ways of working, managing significant budgets, and evaluating performance and ROI
- Ability to build and develop high-performing teams, establish accountability, and align executive, marketing, creative, culinary, operations, analytics, development, and field stakeholders
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, influencing, and creative-review skills
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-growth, evolving organization and travel as needed to restaurants, markets, agency meetings, and company events
- Preferred: MBA or advanced degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related discipline
- Preferred: Leadership experience with a restaurant, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, or other multi-unit consumer brand
- Preferred: Experience scaling a regional brand into new markets or supporting rapid unit growth while maintaining a consistent national brand platform
- Preferred: Deep expertise in contemporary media, creator and influencer ecosystems, cultural partnerships, experiential marketing, and earned-media strategy
- Preferred: Genuine passion for hospitality, food culture, guest experience, and building distinctive brands that earn lasting affinity
