About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect, design, and implement enterprise storage solutions
- Configure and maintain the storage environment
- Monitor storage performance and conduct regular tuning
- Manage data protection, backup, and recovery processes using NetApp SnapCenter, SVM-DR, SnapMirror, SnapLock, and Commvault
- Ensure storage security and compliance with Mercy standards
- Provide 24/7 support for storage-related issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions
- Integrate storage solutions with applications and databases
- Perform upgrades and patching of NetApp systems
- Maintain detailed storage configuration, process, and procedure documentation
- Use automation tools and scripting, including Ansible, Terraform, and/or PowerShell
- Partner with infrastructure, application, database, security, and cloud teams
- Serve as a technical leader for storage technologies across on-premises and cloud environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in storage engineering, with a focus on NetApp technologies
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- In-depth knowledge of NetApp storage systems, including ONTAP
- Proficiency in managing NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel protocols
- Experience with RAID groups, aggregates, volumes, quotas, and qtrees
- Familiarity with Data Infrastructure Insights and Active IQ Unified Manager
- Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux, and VMware environments
- Knowledge of integrating NetApp storage with Azure NetApp Files and Cloud Volumes ONTAP
- Experience in storage migrations to Azure or other hyperscalers
- Experience building PaaS or internal clouds
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Relevant NetApp certifications such as NCDA or NCIE preferred
- Previous experience in a large enterprise healthcare environment is a plus
