About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner
- Assist with clinical procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Provide administrative support for smooth daily operations
- Function within the defined scope of practice under supervision
- Deliver care in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards
- Interact frequently with patients in an outpatient clinical setting
- Use clinical equipment while standing, walking, lifting, and performing related physical duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- New hires must attend MA Clinic Academy training
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required for Hospital Outpatient Departments
- Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation
- Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- One year of outpatient or ambulatory care experience preferred
- BLS certification preferred for non-HOD Clinics
