About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert for the strategic design, analysis, implementation, communication, and ongoing administration of Mercy's health and welfare programs
  • Lead complex benefit initiatives, vendor management activities, compliance reviews, financial analyses, and organizational projects
  • Partner with the Director of Benefits, HR leaders, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop recommendations that enhance the caregiver experience while balancing organizational cost and compliance requirements
  • Provide project leadership, consultation, and mentoring to Benefits Consultants and Benefits Analysts
  • Serve as a key resource for complex benefit-related issues, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration, benefits consulting, or total rewards
  • Demonstrated expertise in health and welfare benefit plan design, administration, and compliance
  • Experience leading complex projects, vendor implementations, and organizational initiatives
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience evaluating benefit utilization, claims, and financial data
  • Experience working with Workday and large-scale HRIS platforms
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS, CBP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
  • Proven ability to develop executive-level recommendations and influence strategic decision-making
