About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead MERGE’s flagship Pharma and MedTech portfolio as a core business builder, senior strategic advisor, and growth architect
- Define and execute the multi-year vision and annual growth strategy for the Pharma & MedTech portfolio
- Present portfolio strategy directly to the Executive Leadership Team
- Collaborate with the Division Managing Director, direct reports, and Business Development team on targeted business plans
- Direct full portfolio P&L management, revenue expansion, margin optimization, and risk mitigation
- Lead pitch strategies and major organic growth opportunities
- Cross-sell MERGE capabilities including creative, media, technology platforms, brand strategy, experience design, and data/analytics
- Advise CMOs, VPs of Marketing, Omnichannel Tech Leaders, and senior commercial executives
- Translate healthcare marketplace insights into tech-enabled marketing and customer experience strategies
- Navigate high-stakes client dynamics, negotiations, and executive-level conversations
- Structure, manage, and mentor integrated account teams
- Orchestrate collaboration across agency disciplines
- Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and resource deployment
- Represent MERGE at industry conferences, networking events, and thought leadership platforms
- Cultivate external networks, strategic partnerships, and prospective business leads
Requirements
What you’ll need- 15–20+ years of progressive, agency-side client management experience leading large-scale, multi-channel pharma and/or medtech accounts
- Proven track record of managing substantial portfolio P&Ls with aggressive revenue and margin performance goals
- Deep familiarity with pharma/medtech regulatory landscapes, HCP and patient journeys, and contemporary digital CX/media ecosystems
- Demonstrated history of winning major client pitches, adapting quickly to market changes, and expanding multi-million-dollar account relationships
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and high-conflict resolution skills at the C-suite level
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent executive leadership experience
- Continuous curiosity to master new tools, trends, and team dynamics
