About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Present and sell specific Merit Medical product groups to new accounts
  • Follow up with customers to confirm products meet their needs
  • Maintain close relationships with clients and existing accounts
  • Call clients to present and demonstrate products, explain benefits, and identify underserved needs
  • Identify potential customers and introduce Merit product groups
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate new-account setup and process orders with Customer Service
  • Create and manage mail, email, and sampling campaigns
  • Prepare and submit product pricing contracts
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability
  • Resolve manufacturing and delivery problems with clients
  • Coordinate with marketing and sales staff on product delivery, product knowledge, and customer feedback
  • Make pricing decisions within authorization limits
  • Provide market intelligence and assist with sales strategy implementation
  • Prepare reports on sales results, contacts, product needs, and procedural improvements
  • Participate in sales training and planning meetings
  • Maintain knowledge of Merit and competitor products
  • Help onboard and train new Inside Sales Representatives and mentor team members
  • Set and achieve personal sales performance goals
  • Support initiatives to increase market share, product quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Support the sales team in achieving goals and targets
  • Perform sales duties using phone, fax, mail, and email

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education and experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree
  • Three years of combined direct sales or outbound sales experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and understand the needs of others in a sales relationship
  • High degree of personal motivation and drive to achieve personal and professional goals
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to think quickly when analyzing problems and explaining answers to purchasing or medical personnel
  • Ability to learn medical equipment usage and identify and explain possible improvements in usage
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to utilize business mathematics to calculate percentages and prepare financial and sales information
  • Strong personal organization skills, including recording, reporting, and documenting work performed
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work long hours as required
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs
