About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead vegetation management operations and outside contractor work performance
  • Solve moderate to highly complex problems independently and develop new perspectives on existing solutions, plans, and goals
  • Lead project teams to complete required tasks
  • Perform lead duties for emergency response in accordance with safety requirements, laws, regulations, and applicable labor agreements
  • Support operations, process improvement initiatives, scheduling, and coordination of vegetation management activities
  • Assist with difficult customers, including customer complaints, refusals, difficult access, and agency matters
  • Clarify expectations and program direction for contractor employees at the direction of the PG&E Representative
  • Monitor the progress and status of pre-inspection and tree work completion
  • Assist with agency meetings and field visits to review vegetation management work
  • Assist with management of routine and non-routine projects
  • Assist in management of the contract review process
  • Perform database sleuthing to identify issues
  • Perform other work as directed by the PG&E Representative
  • Visit job sites and work in office and outdoor environments exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Two years of job-related experience with at least one year of experience in a leadership role, as a team leader or project leader
  • Two (2) years of experience in emergency response and/or two (2) years of experience in hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way
  • Familiarity with PG&E’s vegetation management contractors’ work practices
  • Knowledge of proper arboricultural techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of requirements related to line clearances and fire prevention
  • Ability to perform required physical activities, including walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling in confined or enclosed spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work long hours during peak seasons and various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings
  • Successful completion of pre-employment Controlled Substances testing with a negative result as a condition of employment
