About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the product analytics function and contribute to product strategy for the commercial lines business
- Translate competitor research and field feedback into actionable product decisions
- Work with underwriting, engineering, and leadership to align on product direction
- Shape appetite and refine coverage features
- Help build product infrastructure enabling smarter underwriting at scale
- Monitor performance across classes and states
- Surface emerging risks and opportunities
- Communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Drive product discovery and define requirements
- Help prioritize the product roadmap
- Ensure product changes are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
- Identify opportunities for new enhancements or endorsements
- Research form and rate options, market needs, and competitor insights
- Present options internally and align on direction
- Draft endorsements and rate plans
- Launch new coverage in production in MVP form
- Build detailed requirements for post-MVP production releases
- Prioritize post-MVP production releases with internal stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of experience in commercial insurance, or closely related product or analytics roles
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into product decisions that drive business outcomes
- Sound judgment under ambiguity and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing rigor
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders across distribution, technology, and compliance
- Strong interest in modernizing the small business insurance experience for brokers and their clients
- Working knowledge of commercial P&C insurance regulations, including state rate and form requirements, helpful but not required
