About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary recruiter for full-time and temporary positions, managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing and screening, candidate communication and offers
  • Assist with temporary employee onboarding and serve as a point of contact for onboarding, timekeeping, and other issues
  • Review and reconcile benefit carrier invoices and partner with Finance and benefit providers to research and resolve discrepancies
  • Process and respond to unemployment claims
  • Administer and maintain employee referral, recognition, and employee engagement programs
  • Coordinate the random drug and alcohol screening program, including Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements
  • Prepare and maintain Excel reports and HR metrics
  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee appreciation and recognition events
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws and serve as a resource for employees regarding HR-related questions
  • Assist with maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS information while ensuring confidentiality
  • Support additional HR functions and departmental initiatives as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of HR Generalist or related human resources experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • HR certification, such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to prepare, maintain, and analyze HR-related reports and utilize advanced Excel functions as needed
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with ADP or a comparable Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism
