About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and execute student success initiatives across the nursing program
  • Manage daily operations of advising, retention, progression, and student support services
  • Implement nursing student success and retention activities using student data systems
  • Identify and support at-risk students
  • Monitor and compile progression, retention, graduation, and licensure outcomes
  • Contribute data and summaries for annual success reports and accreditation standards
  • Serve as a lead nursing advisor and assist with advising guidelines and faculty advisor training
  • Provide academic success coaching and case management for students facing academic or personal challenges
  • Connect students with wellness, tutoring, and financial aid resources
  • Facilitate workshops on study skills, time management, test-taking strategies, and professional identity in nursing
  • Coordinate nursing orientations, onboarding, and transition initiatives into clinical coursework
  • Manage outreach campaigns about progression requirements, deadlines, and academic resources
  • Assist with recruitment and yield events, preview days, transfer information sessions, and high school outreach
  • Represent the nursing department on retention committees and partner with university resources to remove barriers to graduation
  • Collaborate with nursing faculty, academic affairs, student services, accessibility resources, and university staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant, professional experience
  • Experience working within a nursing or health professions program
  • Experience in academic advising, student success, higher education administration, counseling, or student support services
  • Experience coordinating small teams, student employees, or cross-functional projects
  • Familiarity with student information systems such as Banner, Salesforce, or Navigate
  • Experience utilizing data to track student milestones
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and a diverse student population
  • Basic understanding of nursing progression pipelines and NCLEX preparation timelines
  • Cover letter and resume/CV required
  • Criminal background check required
  • Participation in E-Verify
