About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support alumni engagement and external relations priorities for the Department of Entrepreneurship and the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship
  • Coordinate alumni and partner events and provide donor stewardship efforts
  • Develop and execute annual entrepreneurial engagement plans for priority cities
  • Set partner targets and student-opportunity goals
  • Build relationships with alumni and ecosystem partners and convert them into internships, student projects, mentors, judges, speakers, company visits, and venture support
  • Coordinate engagement activities and events for alumni-founders, alumni-funders, and business and startup ecosystem professionals
  • Manage external communications with alumni-founders, alumni-funders, and business and startup ecosystem professionals
  • Coordinate cultivation of host companies, guest speakers, judges, and mentors for curricular and co-curricular programs
  • Oversee the student incubator and student accelerator, including annual plans, recruitment, selection, partner coordination, budgets, and outcomes
  • Coordinate pathways from courses, student organizations, and competitions into incubator, accelerator, and external startup opportunities
  • Manage the alumni engagement and external relations database
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of work experience in business or a related field
  • Understanding of entrepreneurship, demonstrated by coursework or professional experience
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to adapt within an entrepreneurial start-up environment
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Criminal background check required
  • Resume/CV and cover letter required
  • M.B.A. or advanced degree in a related field preferred
  • Understanding of executive-level outreach and cultivation activities preferred
  • Experience with external corporate relations and/or executive-level outreach and cultivation activities preferred
