About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care for patients with hearing and/or balance disorders
  • Select and fit hearing aids
  • Supervise student clinicians in screenings, evaluations and aural rehabilitation
  • Participate in service-delivery decisions within the audiology program
  • Provide screenings, evaluations and relevant treatment for hearing-related needs
  • Support clinical education of undergraduate and graduate Speech Pathology and Audiology students
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Chair or Director of Clinical Education and Operations
  • Report to the Department Chair

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree in Audiology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Licensure in Audiology from the Ohio Board of Speech and Hearing Professionals, or eligibility for said licensure
  • Five years of clinical experience in a clinical setting
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision, hearing screening, comprehensive audiological evaluation, hearing aid selection and fitting, documentation and clinical best practices
  • Experience using computer-based audiological equipment and documentation
  • Experience with multiple hearing aid brands
  • Ability to troubleshoot hearing aids and assistive devices
  • Strong counseling skills
  • Ability to provide hearing aids and assistive devices as an adjunct to quality patient care
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to fostering an environment supporting the success of students, staff and patients
  • Criminal background check required
  • Resume and cover letter required
  • Preferred: Earned AuD (Doctorate of Audiology)
  • Preferred: Experience with clinical precepting
  • Preferred: Knowledge of third-party and insurance regulations
