About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the design and development of electrical construction documents, including layouts, details, and specifications
- Engineer complete building systems, including lighting, power distribution, and specialty electrical systems
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and other disciplines
- Engage with clients, support proposal development, and contribute to business growth
- Perform advanced analysis, calculations, and design evaluations for electrical power and lighting systems
- Use Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to produce construction drawings and design electrical systems
- Review project requirements and coordinate design strategies with other disciplines
- Participate in client meetings, assess project needs, present design concepts, and adjust plans
- Communicate technical and program information to team members, management, and clients
- Define scope of work, conduct site inspections, and ensure quality and compliance
- Coordinate or perform field work to gather data and verify existing conditions
- Maintain knowledge of government, military, and industry standards
- Conduct internal technical reviews and quality control checks
- Edit and review technical specifications and contribute written project narratives
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform construction site visits
- Prepare design fee estimates for proposals and RFPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of related experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer Required
- Effective visual/verbal communication skills
- Proficient understanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines, clients, and construction
- Extensive experience in Autodesk Revit/AutoCAD
- Engineering software experience with SKM, EasyPower, AGI32, or Elumtools (preferred)
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) (preferred)
- Micro-Grid Design experience (preferred)
