About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform civil roadway design and analysis for roads, bridges, and traffic projects
- Prepare basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, supporting documentation, and calculations
- Assist with design, plan production, maps, basic reports, and supporting documentation
- Gather project-site background information, including reviewing as-built plans and mapping existing utility service
- Prepare drawings for highways, structures, and traffic projects
- Assist with quantities and project cost estimates
- Coordinate with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
- Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
- Assist with client and project meeting preparation
- Attend internal project meetings and participate as necessary
- Occasionally visit project sites and report findings to Project Managers
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with other disciplines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Ohio and/or Kentucky P.E. license required
- 5 - 8 years of progressive highway design experience
- Traffic engineering experience is a plus
- Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people, multitask and prioritize competing project obligations
- Strong English language skills, written and verbal, are essential
- Ability to quickly learn company policies, relevant software, service offerings, and client standards and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
