About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage transportation and roadway projects from proposal through delivery
- Lead project teams in roadway design, plan production, QA/QC reviews, and technical analyses
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and fee proposals
- Build and maintain client relationships while supporting business development efforts
- Coordinate engineers, technicians, and subconsultants to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Monitor project performance, financials, and resource utilization
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff
- Support transportation design efforts utilizing OpenRoads Designer and digital delivery tools
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minnesota Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 15+ years of transportation engineering and project management experience
- Proven experience delivering highway and roadway projects for MnDOT, county, municipal, and other public-sector clients
- Strong leadership, client relationship management, business development, and communication skills
- Experience managing project scopes, budgets, schedules, quality, and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with roadway design, corridor modeling, plan production, and digital project delivery
- Design-Build experience, PMP certification, multi-state PE licensure, and staff mentorship experience are preferred
