About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Enter and update patient demographic information
  • Verify insurance information
  • Acquire critical demographic, financial, medical, and insurance information from patients
  • Take patient messages using electronic medical records
  • Register new patients
  • Address patient requests and inquiries
  • Resolve patient concerns
  • Return calls as necessary
  • Update registration and insurance information for existing patients
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned
  • Follow the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Report suspected concerns or violations to a supervisor or Compliance Department
  • Complete Annual Compliance Training on time

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a busy medical office preferred
  • Adept at multitasking
  • Customer-oriented and able to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems operations such as EMR
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office
  • Compliance with organizational health and safety policies
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
  • Ability to acquire demographic, financial, medical, and insurance information professionally
  • Ability to work with electronic medical records
