About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide leadership support in the absence of the General Manager
Work with clients, support leadership initiatives, coach sales, train staff, and assist with talent acquisition
Partner with the General Manager to achieve store sales goals and build client relationships
Educate clients on iconic products, their stories, and details
Grow the business weekly using company programs and tools to manage the full client lifecycle
Assist in maintaining store design and visual standards using merchandising guidelines
Create client floor plans and design presentations
Travel for in-home client consultations and visits to local trade professionals
Attend store meetings and product training
Use the Design Within Reach website and catalog to increase product, design, and industry knowledge
Directly manage Sales Assistants and Studio Interns
Report to the General Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Retail management experience preferred
Ability to build relationships and trust with direct reports, peers, and studio clientele
Proficiency with MS Office software, web navigation, and 3-D rendering programs
Able to routinely move objects weighing more than 20 pounds and understand safety requirements
Weekend and holiday availability required
Ability to travel for in-home client consultations and visits to local trade professionals
