About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform data analysis using Excel, SAS, and proprietary Milliman programs
- Assist with consulting across health insurance work areas including Commercial / ACA, Medicare, Behavioral Health, Risk Adjustment, and Dental
- Analyze data and complete actuarial calculations
- Develop and utilize actuarial models
- Implement software solutions
- Collaborate with consultants, project managers, analysts, and interns on project teams
- Help deliver client reports and other deliverables
- Learn and expand knowledge of actuarial concepts and computer programs including Microsoft Excel, VBA, Databricks, and SAS
- Assist with business development efforts
- Progress through actuarial exams with supported and expected study time
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or another major with quantitative course work
- At least one or more Society of Actuaries exams passed
- Solid understanding of basic actuarial concepts
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Some knowledge of a statistical analysis language (SAS, R, SQL, or Python)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Client focused and results oriented
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future
- Past internship or work experience with an actuarial firm doing data analysis preferred
