About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute key analyses for ongoing projects autonomously and with project team members
- Produce high-quality analytical work
- Manipulate and summarize complex data in Excel
- Apply supplemental programming, statistical, and database skills to client assignments
- Present results and recommendations
- Collaborate with team members across multiple locations and, on some assignments, with other Milliman offices around the world
- Pursue Casualty Actuarial Society credentials through actuarial examinations
- Work on projects across insurance, reinsurance, insurance-linked securities, and alternative-risk markets for diverse clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of two actuarial exams passed at the time of application, pursuing an Associate credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society
- Up to two years of professional actuarial full-time work experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modeling, capital modeling, enterprise risk management, and/or reinsurance-related actuarial topics
- Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher, in progress or to be completed in 2027, including quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, etc.
- Proven proficiency with Excel and Word
- Expertise with statistical and modeling tools such as R, @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, and STATA
- Strong critical thinking, technical, and analytical skills
- Superb attention to detail and dedication to technical accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively and organize various client needs across multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and put in extra effort when required by clients
- Ability and willingness to clearly articulate questions and ideas
- Demonstrated leadership and creative thinking abilities
- Intellectual curiosity about risk, Milliman, and the practice’s work
- Enthusiasm for producing high-quality, professional work with accuracy and integrity
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills, including collaboration across time zones
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: three or more passed actuarial exams on the CAS credentialing track
- Preferred: working knowledge of Access and PowerPoint
