About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, manage, mentor, and develop the global HR Service Team, including the India-based HR Service Supervisor and HR Service Associates
- Establish roles, expectations, and accountability while building a collaborative, high-performing team
- Lead delivery of HR administrative services across supported regions
- Ensure employee and business requests are processed accurately, consistently, and within service-level expectations
- Partner with business leaders, HR partners, and HR Centers of Expertise to understand operational needs and address service gaps
- Lead evaluation, transition, and centralization of HR processes from the business into the HR Service Team
- Develop scalable service delivery practices supporting team growth
- Standardize, streamline, automate, and improve HR processes
- Partner with HRIS and stakeholders on transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and new tools
- Establish and maintain operating procedures, service standards, approval requirements, and quality controls
- Ensure procedures are documented and aligned with Milliman policies, compliance requirements, and business needs
- Resolve complex or sensitive service delivery issues and address root causes
- Maintain employee data accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and appropriate handling
- Oversee HR transactions, recordkeeping, quality reviews, reconciliations, data audits, and other controls
- Establish training, cross-training, and knowledge-management practices
- Establish and monitor KPIs, service-level expectations, transaction volumes, quality measures, and staffing needs
- Use performance data to manage capacity, identify risks, and communicate results and recommendations to HR leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR operations experience
- At least 3 years leading an HR service center, shared-services, HR operations, or similarly structured team
- Experience managing supervisors or other people leaders
- Experience leading geographically dispersed or global teams
- Experience overseeing employee lifecycle transactions, including onboarding, employee data changes, compensation changes, and status changes
- Experience centralizing and standardizing HR processes
- Experience using Human Capital Management systems and other HR technologies
- Experience establishing and monitoring service levels, key performance indicators, quality controls, and workload capacity
- Working knowledge of HR policies, data privacy, records management, and internal controls
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement, automation, or business transformation initiatives
- Ability to create strong partnerships with business stakeholders
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work across global time zones and periodically adjust working hours to support team members and business stakeholders in India
- Occasional domestic or international travel may be required
- HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or an international equivalent certification preferred
- Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, or testing preferred
