About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide individual and group instruction to college students needing supplemental academic assistance in nursing
- Provide supplementary academic instruction to students with academic deficiencies
- Provide students with appropriate academic support to achieve vocational goals
- Provide general office support for the Academic Success Center
- Respond to service requests
- Proctor exams for students receiving disability accommodations
- Represent the office within relevant campus and/or community groups
- Work five to ten hours per week
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate or higher degree with coursework in Nursing AND 1 academic year of teaching/tutoring experience and/or study skills in relevant areas at the high school level or above; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Knowledge of Practical Nursing courses and Associates Degree Nursing courses
- Computer skills to create letters, modify spreadsheets, organize calendaring, and navigate online materials
- Experience understanding and utilizing assistive technology and related devices
- Experience with Desire2Learn (D2L) or similar online course platform
- Experience working with students from diverse populations
- Resume and Cover Letter required
- Must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins; H-1B sponsorship unavailable
- Employees driving on college/university business using a rental or state vehicle must conform to MinnState vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check
