About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform member outreach by telephone and written correspondence to resolve past-due loans
  • Maintain member goodwill, protect collateral, control TDR impact, and protect credit union membership interests
  • Resolve delinquencies, assess risk, and mitigate losses across mortgages, auto loans, lines of credit, personal loans, and small business loans
  • Locate unreachable members using approved skip-tracing methods and resources
  • Evaluate members for extensions, workouts, and refinances
  • Make decisions within authority and recommend or present complex cases to management
  • Scan checks and pull payments from member accounts according to established guidelines
  • Conduct line revocation, equity review, repossession assignments and management, insurance claim follow-up, pre-foreclosure correspondence and management, and potential charge-off reviews
  • Counsel members on prudent credit usage, personal financial management, and mutually beneficial payment plans
  • Conduct charge-off placement and recovery when appropriate
  • Support management by pulling reports
  • Attend training and education, including on-the-job work, credit union courses, and webinars
  • Adhere to operational controls and applicable regulations and policies, including BSA and OFAC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma plus a minimum of 5 years collection experience
  • Associates degree a plus
  • Financial institution background strongly preferred
  • Strong customer/member service abilities
