Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own features end to end, from conception to production
  • Work across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems
  • Build backend and infrastructure features, UI improvements, and connectors
  • Use Claude, Codex, and fleets of agents to write code and review pull requests
  • Shape problems and make architecture, product, and UX decisions
  • Harden enterprise paths and protect security-sensitive surfaces
  • Design connectors and identify generated code that is incorrect
  • Ship quickly and learn directly from founders and customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Track record of shipping products, internal tools, open-source projects, or serious side projects to real users
  • Strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly
  • Product- and customer-focused approach
  • Understanding of blast radius, trust boundaries, and security-sensitive infrastructure
  • Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs
  • Comfortable across TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB, or able to learn new languages, protocols, and domains quickly
  • Excited to build with AI agents and assess when they help or conceal problems
  • Already builds with AI every day
  • Willing to work in a hybrid environment in San Mateo or San Francisco offices 3x a week
  • Willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, if needed
  • College degree asked about in the application form, but not explicitly required in the job description
