About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own features end to end from conception through production
- Work across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems
- Build backend and infrastructure systems
- Build product UI when needed
- Fix connector issues during security reviews
- Shape problems and make architecture, product, and UX decisions
- Harden enterprise paths
- Design connectors
- Protect security-sensitive surfaces
- Review and catch generated code that is incorrect
- Collaborate directly with founders and customers
- Build and deploy agents on the company’s platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Track record of shipping to real users, such as a product, internal tool, open-source project, or serious side project
- Strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly
- Product-value and customer-needs orientation
- Infrastructure mindset, including blast radius, trust boundaries, and security implications
- Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs
- Comfortable across TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB, or able to learn new languages, protocols, and domains quickly
- Excited to build with AI agents and evaluate when they help or hide problems
- Already builds with AI every day and wants to work without heavy process
- Developer-facing products, protocol or gateway work, or infrastructure at scale preferred
- Background in security, identity, or permission systems preferred
- Contributions to open source, MCP servers, or agentic frameworks preferred
- Design sensibility preferred
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment in the San Mateo or San Francisco offices 3x a week
- Must answer U.S. immigration sponsorship questions as part of the application
