About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own features end to end from conception through production
- Work across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems
- Build UI when product needs require it
- Fix broken connectors during security reviews
- Shape problems and make architecture, product, and UX decisions
- Harden enterprise paths and design connectors
- Protect security-sensitive surfaces
- Review and catch generated code that is incorrect
- Ship quickly in a flat, AI-native environment
- Learn directly from founders and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Track record of shipping products, internal tools, open-source projects, or serious side projects to real users
- Strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly
- Prioritization of product value and customer needs
- Ability to reason about blast radius, trust boundaries, and security-sensitive infrastructure
- Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs
- Comfortable across TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB, or able to learn new languages, protocols, and domains quickly
- Excitement about building with AI agents
- Daily use of AI tools
- Nice to have: developer-facing products, protocol or gateway work, or infrastructure at scale
- Nice to have: security, identity, or permission systems background
- Nice to have: open-source, MCP server, or agentic framework contributions
- Nice to have: design sensibility
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment in the San Mateo or San Francisco offices 3x a week
- College degree is asked about in the application form, but the posting does not state it as a job requirement
