About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own features end to end from conception through production
  • Work across gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems
  • Build backend and infrastructure functionality, with flexibility to improve the product UI

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Track record of shipping a product, internal tool, open-source project, or serious side project to real users
  • Strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly
  • Product-focused mindset prioritizing customer needs over technical purity
  • Ability to reason about blast radius, trust boundaries, and security-sensitive infrastructure
  • Ability to read unfamiliar code, reason from first principles, and explain tradeoffs
  • Comfortable across TypeScript, Python, and CockroachDB, or able to learn new languages, protocols, and domains quickly
  • Excited to build with AI agents and identify when they help or hide problems
  • Already builds with AI every day and prefers a low-process environment
  • Willing to work in person in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Willing to work hybrid in the San Mateo or San Francisco offices 3 days per week
  • Must address U.S. work authorization and potential H-1B/O-1 or other immigration support requirements in the application
