About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead CRA and Revenu Québec audit defense strategies in partnership with Legal and Finance
- Maintain the centralized tax compliance calendar and audit defense tracker
- Drive transfer pricing strategy and finalize intercompany agreements
- Oversee annual transfer pricing documentation
- Lead international contract migration strategies between Mistplay entities
- Oversee cross-border tax compliance, U.S. state and federal filing exposure, multistate payroll, sales tax nexus tracking, and shadow payroll
- Manage employment tax obligations, including Ontario Employer Health Tax and Canadian stock option exercise withholdings
- Prepare and submit federal and provincial SR&ED, Québec C3i, and IRAP tax incentive claims
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns and manage annual corporate income tax returns
- Act as the primary liaison with external tax advisors and collaborate with Legal and Finance
- Report to the Controller, Director of Accounting
Requirements
What you’ll need- CPA designation or equivalent advanced degree in taxation or accounting
- Significant experience managing Canadian and cross-border corporate tax compliance, including CRA/Revenu Québec audits and SR&ED/C3i incentive programs
- Deep understanding of international transfer pricing rules, permanent establishment risk, and multistate U.S. tax nexus tracking
- Familiarity with equity compensation tax implications, including 409A valuations and global stock option withholding
- Proven track record of managing and collaborating effectively with top-tier external tax advisors and legal counsel
- French language proficiency is required, particularly for effective communication with Revenu Québec
