About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform setup, programming, and operation of computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines
  • Operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and profile machines
  • Make programming and other adjustments to established specifications
  • Monitor machines to ensure proper operation
  • Work from drawings and written instructions to create replacement and new parts and repair existing parts and equipment
  • Determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and required machines from specifications
  • Compute cutting speeds, feed rates, and dimensions
  • Prepare and pre-set tools for machining operations
  • Rig and transport large parts and equipment by crane
  • Inspect machined work pieces for conformance to specifications
  • Perform housekeeping of the machine and work area
  • Perform daily machine maintenance checks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current, valid driver license
  • Prior machining experience
  • Proven ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of various metals and measurements used in machining processes
