About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform setup, programming, and operation of CNC machines
- Operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and profile machines
- Make programming and other adjustments to established specifications
- Monitor machines to ensure proper operation
- Create replacement and new parts and repair existing parts and equipment from drawings and written instructions
- Determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and required machines from specifications
- Prepare and pre-set tools for machining operations
- Rig and transport large parts and equipment by crane
- Inspect machined workpieces for conformance to specifications
- Perform housekeeping of the machine and work area
- Conduct daily machine maintenance checks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current, valid driver license
- Prior machining experience
- Proven ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Extensive knowledge of various metals and measurements used in machining processes
- Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, damaged parts, or written descriptions
- Ability to compute cutting speeds, feed rates, and dimensions
- Ability to rig and transport large parts and equipment by crane
