About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to the designated shift, crew, or function
Receive and disseminate written and verbal instructions, direction, and training from supervisors or senior managers
Perform production tasks, troubleshooting, minor equipment maintenance, and setup
Train group members and potentially participate in performance appraisals
Maintain production schedules and ensure quality standards are met
Enable effective communication between management and operators
Enforce processing procedures and policies
Complete operational documentation, including travelers, map sheets, job routers, and work requests
Complete safety documentation, including injury reports, environmental mishap reports, and JSAs
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Monitor and ensure shipments are loaded and rigged properly
Assist in the hiring process
Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors and run machines as needed for customer demands

Requirements

What you’ll need

Seven years of experience in a specific machine operation
One to two years of supervisor experience is preferred
Crane and forklift certifications; in-house training is provided to obtain certification
Valid driver's license
Ability to use computers, hand tools, and other tools specific to the work area
Ability to properly use safety equipment, including hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and job-specific PPE
