About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic leadership for plant manufacturing operations
- Lead and manage all production operations to achieve objectives related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Develop and execute strategic manufacturing plans supporting operational growth, capacity planning, workforce optimization, and continuous improvement
- Drive operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement methodologies
- Establish and monitor KPIs, identify trends, and implement corrective actions
- Partner with senior leadership on long-range operational strategies, capital improvement projects, and process optimization
- Ensure OSHA requirements, company policies, and environmental standards are followed
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Customer Service
- Drive labor efficiency, material utilization, inventory control, and waste reduction initiatives
- Analyze production data, financial metrics, and operational reports for decision-making and resource planning
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production personnel
- Develop succession planning and talent development strategies
- Oversee production scheduling and resource allocation for on-time delivery
- Implement technology, automation, and process improvements
- Manage departmental budgets, labor planning, and operational expenditures
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, safety, downtime, and inefficiencies
- Maintain communication across all organizational levels regarding operational priorities and performance
- Ensure accurate production metrics, labor reporting, downtime analysis, inventory usage, and operational documentation
- Perform additional strategic and operational leadership responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment
- Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership experience managing multi-line manufacturing operations, production departments, or plant operations
- Proven success leading strategic operational improvements that resulted in measurable gains in productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated experience with manufacturing KPI management, production analytics, budgeting, labor planning, and operational forecasting
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, inventory management, quality systems, production scheduling, and supply chain coordination
- Experience implementing process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational scalability strategies
- Excellent leadership, coaching, team member development, and organizational management skills
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align manufacturing operations with broader company objectives
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, production reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed based on operational requirements
