About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own technical design for complex features end to end, from backend services and data models to frontend experiences
Make technical decisions balancing speed, quality, cost, and product considerations
Drive reliability, observability, and operational excellence for production services
Partner with AI Engine to bring AI into experiment and replay workflows
Collaborate with Product Platform on SDKs, shared infrastructure, and architecture
Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and 1:1 support
Serve as an escalation point for complex bugs and on-call incidents
Work with Support and Solutions Engineering on customer escalations and prospect technical questions
Partner with Product and Design to identify and lead future work
Work across React frontend experiences, Python backend services, flag evaluation, and replay ingestion systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Experience building and operating production systems end to end, with ownership of reliability and correctness
Expert-level depth in at least one area: systems, web, or data infrastructure
Broad understanding of full-stack architecture
Experience owning technical design for complex projects and managing multiple concurrent workstreams
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Sound judgment in setting priorities, selecting technologies, and making technical, product, and business tradeoffs
Track record of mentoring other engineers and contributing to team growth
Strong technical communication
React / TypeScript experience is a bonus
Django / Python experience is a bonus
Experience with experimentation, feature flagging, or session replay products is a bonus
Experience building high-throughput, low-latency services is a bonus
Familiarity with analytics or observability platforms is a bonus
Experience building with LLMs, AI agents, or tool-use frameworks is a bonus
Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor is a bonus
