About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with recruitment, selection, and onboarding of UK & Ireland Operations personnel
- Support creation and updating of job descriptions for UK operational roles
- Post and distribute job advertisements
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date applicant records
- Oversee seasonal operations
- Manage vendor relationships
- Support operational programmes, including transport and logistics
- Manage bookings and organise timetables
- Coordinate attractions and transport
- Handle administrative and clerical tasks
- Act as liaison between UK Operations and other departments
- Review itineraries and become knowledgeable about programme details
- Plan and organise activities and excursions
- Use MLA software effectively
- Work with Head Office to plan and deliver centre operations and programmes
- Attend meetings with the Operational team and Head Office
- Assist with contracting, booking confirmations, and payment of excursion and transport services
- Manage the full recruitment cycle from initial enquiry to confirmed enrolment
- Qualify leads, provide programme information, and guide applicants through applications
- Verify documentation and ensure compliance with visa, safeguarding, and programme requirements
- Promote student welfare and provide safety and welfare assistance
- Report issues affecting student safety, wellbeing, or performance
- Observe relevant fire, health, and safety issues around the MLA centre
- Support MLA’s mission, quality standards, code of conduct, and external-organisation guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a UK passport/right to work in the UK
- Must have a valid DBS (England & Wales) or PVG (Scotland); candidates based outside the UK must provide a Criminal Record Check from their country of residence
- Proven suitability to work with students under 18
- At least 2 references
- Proficiency in IT
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Education, International Relations, or a related field (desirable)
- Experience in operations, programme coordination, education services, or international programmes (desirable)
- Experience working with students, host institutions, or international partners (desirable)
- Prior experience overseeing a strict operating budget (desirable)
- Ability to coordinate multiple programmes or projects simultaneously
- Strong planning, scheduling, and logistics management skills
- Experience managing databases, documentation, and reporting
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to establish excellent relationships with clients and service providers
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work long hours in a high-pressure environment
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace, including Excel, Word, Sheets, and Docs
- Ability to be pleasant, polite, and cooperative
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility for evenings and weekends during peak periods
