About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install and service physical security systems and platforms, including CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, communications, and other low-voltage systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues
- Train and mentor team members
- Work as a valued team member on projects and installations to deliver quality results to customers
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application on client engagements
- Work with trades and subcontractors assigned to projects
- Serve as lead technician on smaller projects and installations
- Support company and customer needs through required travel
- No direct reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2+ years of experience with the installation and service of enterprise-level physical security systems and platforms, including access controls, CCTV, and intrusion/burglar systems
- Proficiency in device installation, headend equipment, cabling, and connecting systems to the network
- Basic understanding of networking and programming
- Ability to oversee and train others on device installation
- Demonstrated ability to use test equipment to verify installation
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues across various enterprise-level systems
- Ability to obtain appropriate licensure
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, talk, hear, and use personal protective equipment
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to work on-call for critical systems maintenance when required
- Ability to work first shift Monday–Friday, with occasional second or third shifts and weekends depending on project schedules
- Ability to travel as necessary to support company and customer needs
