About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and own full-stack features end to end, including responsive React or Angular interfaces backed by FastAPI services
  • Deploy applications on AWS for global automotive OEMs, suppliers, and internal analytics teams
  • Build application layers for conversational and agentic AI systems, including retrieval and text-to-SQL pipelines, tool and MCP integrations, streaming interfaces, human-in-the-loop review, guardrails, and observability
  • Model and query data across relational, vector, and document/NoSQL databases
  • Write and tune non-trivial SQL and design schemas for production-scale performance and cost efficiency
  • Decompose work into agent-ready tasks and create specifications, context, and guardrails for AI coding agents
  • Review code and agent-generated output to maintain quality and security
  • Lead design discussions, define patterns and reusable components, and mentor engineers
  • Partner with product, data science, and business stakeholders to shape requirements and prototype quickly
  • Drive features through to measurable adoption in a global, cross-regional organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production web applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep front-end expertise in React or Angular, including component architecture, state management, TypeScript, performance optimisation, and accessible, responsive UI
  • Strong back-end engineering in Python with FastAPI or equivalent modern async framework, including REST and streaming API design, authentication and authorisation, testing, and CI/CD
  • Advanced SQL and hands-on experience across multiple database technologies, including relational plus at least one of vector, NoSQL, or analytical/columnar stores
  • Experience with schema design and query tuning
  • Demonstrated experience building AI-powered systems, including LLM application development, RAG or agentic patterns, prompt and context engineering, and evaluation or guardrail design
  • Daily, fluent use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar in a real delivery workflow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong ownership and pragmatic judgement
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones in a distributed global team
  • Preferred: experience taking an AI product from prototype to production
  • Preferred: familiarity with agent frameworks and protocols, including multi-agent orchestration, MCP servers and tooling, agent SDKs, or serverless agent runtimes on AWS
  • Preferred: cloud and platform depth on AWS, including containerised deployment, infrastructure as code, observability, and security-conscious enterprise design
  • Preferred: automotive, mobility, or large-scale data and analytics domain exposure
  • Preferred: experience with data governance, semantic/ontology layers, and entitlement models
  • Preferred: coaching experience and product sense
  • Preferred: continuous learning in the AI landscape
