About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect and qualify new national accounts and large commercial fleet customers, typically 25+ vehicles or multi-location operations
  • Build and maintain an accurate CRM sales pipeline with stage tracking, close-date estimates, and deal size
  • Research prospective accounts' fleet composition, service providers, pain points, and decision-making structure
  • Lead the full sales cycle from outreach and discovery through site visits, proposals, contract negotiation, and close
  • Develop account-specific growth strategies to expand wallet share across locations, business units, and vehicle classes
  • Represent Model 1 at trade shows, fleet conferences, and customer events
  • Conduct fleet needs assessments and create personalized service solutions
  • Partner with operations, service managers, and technicians to design scalable service plans covering preventive maintenance, DOT/inspection compliance, emergency response, and parts availability
  • Document, review, and periodically adjust service plans based on utilization, seasonal needs, and fleet changes
  • Develop and negotiate pricing proposals, contract terms, rate structures, and volume discounts
  • Coordinate pricing with finance and operations leadership and maintain pricing documentation
  • Serve as primary contact and escalation lead for assigned national and large accounts
  • Coordinate dispatch, service, and operations teams to ensure work orders are scheduled, staffed, and completed
  • Conduct regular business reviews and build multi-threaded account relationships
  • Identify expansion opportunities and lead account growth and retention efforts
  • Report on pipeline, forecasts, account growth, retention/churn, revenue performance, and account health metrics
  • Support annual account planning and territory/quota-setting discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in fleet services, commercial vehicles, automotive service, transportation, or a related industry
  • Demonstrated success managing large, multi-location, or national accounts, including pricing negotiation and contract management
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience developing and aligning pricing structures across regions or business units
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, coordinating across operations, service, dispatch, finance, and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot and Microsoft Office/Excel
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to customer sites and company service locations
  • Preferred: existing knowledge of or relationships within the commercial fleet, trucking, or vehicle maintenance/service industry
  • Preferred: experience with fleet maintenance software, service scheduling/dispatch systems, or telematics platforms
  • Preferred: familiarity with DOT regulations and commercial vehicle compliance requirements
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Preferred: prior experience selling into or managing national/enterprise-level accounts with formal procurement processes
