About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and earn new business opportunities with large regional and national fleets
- Build tailored service plans to improve uptime, increase customer loyalty, and drive retail revenue
- Ensure consistent customer communication and feedback
- Prospect and qualify national accounts and large commercial fleet customers
- Build and maintain CRM sales pipelines with accurate stage tracking, close-date estimates, and deal size
- Research prospective accounts' fleet composition, service providers, pain points, and decision-making structure
- Lead the full sales cycle from outreach and discovery through site visits, proposals, contract negotiation, and close
- Develop account-specific growth strategies and expand wallet share
- Represent Model 1 at trade shows, fleet conferences, and customer events
- Conduct fleet needs assessments and create personalized service solutions
- Partner with operations, service managers, and technicians on preventive maintenance, compliance, emergency response, and parts availability plans
- Document, review, and periodically adjust service plans
- Develop and negotiate pricing proposals, contract terms, rate structures, and volume discounts
- Coordinate pricing with finance and operations leadership
- Serve as primary contact and escalation lead for assigned accounts
- Coordinate dispatch, service, and operations teams to ensure work is scheduled and completed
- Resolve service escalations and recurring issues
- Conduct quarterly business reviews and build multi-threaded account relationships
- Identify expansion opportunities and support account retention
- Maintain CRM records and report pipeline, forecasts, account health, retention, and revenue metrics to sales leadership
- Support annual account planning and territory/quota-setting discussions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in fleet services, commercial vehicles, automotive service, transportation, or a related industry
- Demonstrated success managing large, multi-location, or national accounts, including pricing negotiation and contract management
- Strong negotiation skills with experience developing and aligning pricing structures across regions or business units
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, coordinating across internal teams and external stakeholders
- Strong communication and presentation skills with senior decision-makers
- Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to customer sites and company service locations
- Preferred: Existing knowledge of or relationships within the commercial fleet, trucking, or vehicle maintenance/service industry
- Preferred: Experience with fleet maintenance software, service scheduling/dispatch systems, or telematics platforms
- Preferred: Familiarity with DOT regulations and commercial vehicle compliance requirements
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Preferred: Prior experience selling into or managing national/enterprise-level accounts with formal procurement processes
