About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect and qualify new national accounts and large commercial fleet customers
  • Build and maintain an accurate CRM sales pipeline
  • Research prospective accounts, fleet composition, service providers, pain points, and decision-making structures
  • Lead the full sales cycle from outreach and discovery through site visits, proposals, negotiations, and close
  • Develop account-specific strategies to expand wallet share
  • Represent Model 1 at trade shows, fleet conferences, and customer events
  • Conduct fleet needs assessments and create personalized service solutions
  • Partner with operations, service managers, and technicians to design customized service plans
  • Document and review SLAs, response times, service frequency, and escalation paths with customers
  • Revisit service plans based on utilization, seasonal needs, and fleet changes
  • Develop pricing proposals and negotiate contract terms, rate structures, and volume discounts
  • Coordinate with finance and operations to validate pricing and cost-to-serve
  • Serve as primary contact and escalation lead for assigned accounts
  • Coordinate customer work with dispatch, service, and operations teams
  • Resolve service escalations and recurring issues
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts
  • Build multi-threaded relationships within customer accounts
  • Identify expansion opportunities and lead account growth
  • Maintain CRM records for account activity, pipeline, service plans, and pricing agreements
  • Report on pipeline, forecasts, account growth, retention/churn, revenue, and account health metrics
  • Support annual account planning and territory/quota-setting discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in fleet services, commercial vehicles, automotive service, transportation, or a related industry
  • Demonstrated success managing large, multi-location, or national accounts, including pricing negotiation and contract management
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience developing and aligning pricing structures across regions or business units
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to coordinate across operations, service, dispatch, finance, and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel regularly to customer sites and company service locations
  • Preferred: knowledge of or relationships within the commercial fleet, trucking, or vehicle maintenance/service industry
  • Preferred: experience with fleet maintenance software, service scheduling/dispatch systems, or telematics platforms
  • Preferred: familiarity with DOT regulations and commercial vehicle compliance requirements
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Preferred: prior experience selling into or managing national/enterprise-level accounts with formal procurement processes
