About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow and maintain relationships with distributors, dealers, and construction professionals across the Spokane, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana territory
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, margin, and expense goals
  • Increase market share and improve KPIs including dealer share, product placement, and builder adoption
  • Identify, acquire, and retain key dealer and contractor accounts
  • Optimize local distribution strategies and strengthen relationships
  • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and execute an annual business plan
  • Conduct Joint Business Planning meetings with regional leadership and distributors
  • Deliver product presentations in person and via virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams
  • Use CRM tools and company sales processes to track pipeline activity, territory coverage, and customer engagement
  • Provide competitive and market intelligence to inform program and pricing strategies
  • Uphold company policies and business ethics
  • Travel regularly throughout the territory, typically approximately two overnights per week (20–60%)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of outside sales experience in the building materials industry
  • Experience in contractor and builder sales through distribution and lumberyards
  • Experience with pull-through selling and influencing product selection at the contractor and builder level
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate products and deliver messages clearly to diverse audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
  • Previous CRM experience and/or professional sales training (preferred)
