About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Data Governance initiatives at the corporate level
  • Define and maintain data management policies, standards, and processes
  • Structure and manage data domains in partnership with business and technology teams
  • Administer and promote adoption of the corporate Data Catalog
  • Manage metadata, the business glossary, and Data Lineage
  • Define and monitor data quality metrics
  • Ensure the proper classification and cataloging of data assets
  • Coordinate activities with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technical teams
  • Support initiatives related to regulatory compliance and data protection
  • Promote a Data Governance culture throughout the organization
  • Conduct Data Governance-related workshops and training sessions
  • Perform other routine activities within the department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in Data Governance
  • Advanced knowledge of Databricks
  • Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog
  • Strong knowledge of the DAMA-DMBOK framework and its application in corporate environments
  • Experience defining and managing Data Domains
  • Experience with Data Catalogs, metadata management, and business glossaries
  • Knowledge of Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship
  • Experience working in corporate data environments and cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data architecture
  • Ability to collaborate with business, architecture, data engineering, and analytics teams
  • Strategic perspective on data management and governance
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Collaborative mindset for working in multidisciplinary environments
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and autonomous working skills
  • Ability to conduct Data Governance-related workshops and training sessions
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency
  • Preferred: Databricks certifications
  • Preferred: CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) certification
  • Preferred: Experience with complementary Data Quality and Metadata Management tools
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Brazil’s LGPD and data privacy
  • Preferred: Experience with Data Mesh or Data Products programs
