About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete customer-requested jobs and solve issues through diagnostic troubleshooting
  • Perform routine maintenance on existing systems and install new equipment
  • Respond to service-related customer requests, including installations and repairs
  • Diagnose and solve complex system problems by checking gas flow, thermostats, heat flow, and insulation
  • Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements using best practices and previous experience
  • Provide consultative services and participate in projects, potentially leading a workstream
  • Identify potential threats and mitigate risk
  • Perform final system inspections to ensure equipment operates safely
  • Demonstrate understanding of products and services and their impact on organizational operations
  • Provide status updates and pertinent information to Service Managers, Fulfillment Managers, and Residential Energy Services team members
  • Maintain a safe working environment according to safety policies and procedures, including PPE, Leak Prevention, and Distracted Driving requirements
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Lead jobs and provide guidance and coaching to junior employees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A valid Gas Technician license is required
  • Dual licensing (Oil and Gas) is an asset
  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and some air conditioning is required
  • Ability to install and service various types of heating equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
  • 2-4 years of experience is preferred
