About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support people receiving services in achieving personal dreams and goals according to individual goal plans
- Develop positive relationships and support community relationships and natural supports
- Assist with community participation, advocacy, emotional, physical, and medical needs
- Provide coverage for Developmental Specialist, Behavioral Specialist, Individual Supports/Supported Living Specialist during vacations, holidays, leave, or vacancies
- Provide input into assessments, planning processes, and individual plans
- Implement individual plans and complete required documentation, progress notes, communication logs, records, attendance sheets, and reports
- Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, lawn care, vehicle cleanliness, and maintenance
- Educate and monitor people receiving services in work, vocational, day support, and community settings
- Maintain safety, conduct drills, inspect equipment, and practice emergency procedures
- Substitute in residential or community settings and complete sleepovers as needed
- Drive and arrange or provide transportation as required
- Coordinate schedules with lead staff to maximize hours and meet individual needs
- Assist with staff orientation, mentoring, and training
- Attend meetings and training and maintain required certifications
- Follow service definitions, agency policies, and applicable regulations
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma (Required)
- Valid driver's license - USA
- Experience working with children or adults with a mental health diagnosis, an intellectual/developmental disability, or substance use disorder is not required
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on a flexible floater schedule
- Ability to drive and travel as required
- Ability to provide or arrange transportation for people receiving services
- Ability to complete required agency, state, and federal training and maintain certifications
- Ability to comply with agency policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal statutes and regulations
