About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Run video consultations, collect information, establish customer goals, explain plans, answer questions, and support customers with next steps
- Handle complex escalations involving vulnerable customers, multiple pension pots, suitability assessments, and careful off-boarding
- Decide whether customers should be off-ramped, document the rationale, and ensure good outcomes
- Respond to customers flagged as insistent while protecting the customer and the firm
- Review engine-generated plans against suitability standards within agreed SLAs and sign off plans for release
- Review flagged customer cases and decide whether to conduct further fact finding, off-ramp, or release plans
- Perform QA checks on advice and calls delivered by Advisors and customer interactions handled by support teams
- Own QA themes and report findings into governance forums
- Provide expert input into House Rules governing advice engine recommendations
- Work with Risk & Compliance on stress testing the advice model
- Partner with Product to improve fact finding, suitability reports, and the Advisor Management System
- Contribute to compliance monitoring and represent the advice team in governance and audit meetings
- Act as senior technical reference point for Advisors, Paraplanners, and Money Guides
- Coach and develop less experienced Advisers, including supporting T&C progression and providing structured feedback
- Potentially line-manage one or more Financial Advisers
- Help shape recruitment, onboarding, and competence frameworks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (QCF Level 4) or equivalent, with significant additional qualifications in pensions
- AF7 or equivalent is required given the drawdown remit
- Substantial post-qualification experience as a regulated advisor
- Strong track record of delivering retirement and at-retirement advice
- Deep technical knowledge of UK pensions, drawdown, tax-free cash sequencing, ISAs, and the tax treatment of investments and pensions
- Demonstrable experience of QA, file checking, or T&C supervision
- Comfortable operating in a restricted advice environment and explaining the boundary between advice and guidance
- Fluent with the Consumer Duty regime and able to evidence good customer outcomes
- Standard UK business hours availability
- Chartered or working towards Chartered Financial Planner status is desirable
- Experience with automated or robo-advice, or hybrid advice services, is desirable
- Experience contributing to House Rules, advice models, or advice logic is desirable
- Candidates must be based within the UK
