About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the learning and development plan for clinical teams
- Design and deliver onboarding, induction and ongoing development programmes
- Build learning pathways supporting employee development and career progression
- Create workshops, digital learning, practical resources and supporting materials
- Conduct training needs analyses, skills audits and capability assessments
- Deliver group workshops, virtual learning sessions and one-to-one coaching
- Support mandatory training and continuing professional development requirements
- Develop competency frameworks and consistent assessment approaches with clinical subject-matter experts
- Identify capability gaps and implement development plans with managers
- Support coaching, feedback and reflective practice
- Translate clinical policies, pathways, SOPs and regulatory requirements into practical learning
- Support training and change management for new clinical services, systems, technologies and ways of working
- Maintain learning, competency and compliance records
- Measure and evaluate learning impact on capability, performance and service quality
- Produce learning insights and reports on progress, risks and improvement areas
- Review and improve learning content
- Build relationships with clinical, operational and People leaders
- Act as Learning and Development lead for clinical change and transformation projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience within Learning and Development, workforce development, operational training or a similar role
- Good understanding of clinical or healthcare environments, including patient safety, clinical governance, quality and regulatory requirements
- Experience designing and delivering learning programmes for specialist, operational or regulated teams
- Strong learning design skills and ability to turn complex or technical information into clear, practical learning
- Experience developing structured onboarding programmes, learning pathways or competency frameworks
- Excellent facilitation, coaching and communication skills
- Confidence working with clinical specialists and senior stakeholders without being the clinical expert
- Strong stakeholder-management skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced, evolving business
- Strong project-management and organisational skills
- Experience using data, feedback and performance measures to evaluate learning and drive improvement
- Experience supporting organisational change, service transformation or implementation of new systems and processes
- Confidence using learning management systems, digital learning tools and reporting platforms
- Relevant Learning and Development, education or training qualification would be beneficial but is not essential
- Professional healthcare registration is a plus but not required
- Legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom
