About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create and champion a multi-year strategy and technical roadmap aligned with business goals
- Set and drive the AI strategy across the People Team
- Lead the cross-team People AI project squad
- Navigate governance and Executive stakeholder management
- Drive automation, continuous process improvement, self-service, and digital transformation across people touchpoints
- Mature people analytics capabilities and deliver high-quality insights and predictive analytics
- Manage strategic relationships and optimise commercial budgets with external technology vendors and operational partners
- Select, negotiate, and implement solutions for Monzo’s scaling needs
- Uphold governance, control frameworks, and auditable processes across payroll, mobility, and systems
- Ensure data integrity, compliance with localised employment laws, and successful financial audits
- Oversee Monzo’s global payroll infrastructure and operations
- Lead People Operations & Payroll, People Technology, Global Mobility, and People Analytics & Insights functions
- Report directly to the VP, Reward & People Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience designing and leading People Operations and Technology strategies at scale
- Experience with People infrastructure including payroll cycles, global mobility frameworks, and complex enterprise HRIS ecosystems
- Ideally direct exposure to Workday implementations or governance
- Experience navigating global, matrixed environments
- Collaborative, consultative leadership and expert stakeholder management
- Comfortable partnering with VP and C-suite teams
- Knowledge of GDPR, data privacy laws, localised payroll regulations, and international employment compliance
- Inspiring people leadership and experience enabling technical experts and SMEs
- Experience with Hibob, Workday, Greenhouse, Lattice, Peakon, Globalshares, Pave, or Looker is desirable, not mandatory
